Abstract
Knowledge of species is crucial for the awareness of biodiversity. Biodiversity literacy is the basis for the willingness to support measures to overcome the biodiversity and climate crisis. Therefore, research on biodiversity and biodiversity education must be given a higher priority than has been the case to date. Teachers at schools and universities play a key role in teaching biodiversity skills. Promoting cooperation between formal and non-formal educational institutions can make a significant contribution to improving education in various areas in the future.
